Roller Blades refer to a brand of inline skates, which are roller skates that hold two to five polyurethane wheels in a single line. Inline skates allow faster speeds and increased maneuverability compared to quad skates, that have two front wheels and two back wheels. Currently, there are five main classifications of inline skates.

1. Fitness and Performance - skates that focus more on performance, speed, and distance. These are designed for more advanced level individuals.

2. Recreational - skates designed for beginner and intermediate level individuals that focus on comfort.

3. Street - also known as urban or aggressive skates, street skates feature a short frame design that allows agility on city streets.

4. Race - designed solely for racing, race skates incorporate a stiff boot into their design.

5. Children’s skates- lightweight skates that can expand up to four sizes, which allow for extended use as the child grows.
